Edition #4
Hey there!
Welcome to “This Week I Learnt” - edition #4.
To become a better Product person, it's important to learn new things all the time. There are lots of blogs, articles, books, and podcasts, but it can be hard to find the good stuff. We want to help you by sharing the best learning resources you will need in your journey. We'll share only what we found to be the best and most helpful.
If you are upskilling to become a better Product person, you will love our posts.
📜 The Adjacent User Theory
The article gives a framework to grow your product beyond your current user base. It tells that you should focus on identifying and understanding the "adjacent user", who is someone similar to your current users but is not yet using your product at all or to the level of a loyal user (Power user). Once you have identified your adjacent user, you can then focus on creating features and experiences that will make it easier for them to adopt your product or use it to the level a loyal user would use.
📜 Five Ways to Address Complexity In Your Product
As products grow in popularity and complexity, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain a simple and intuitive user experience. This can lead to user frustration and churn. This article outlines a number of ways to address complexity in your product, including focusing on the core product experience, offering optional complexity, using progressive disclosure, providing clear and concise documentation, and providing support.
📜 Consumers Are Becoming Wise to Your Nudge
Lately, nudges have become increasingly popular as a way to influence consumer behavior. The study conducted by an insight consultancy, which surveyed over 1,000 British adults about their attitudes towards behavioral interventions suggests that consumers are becoming wise to these nudges and are less likely to be influenced by them. Every PM, Designer & Marketer should read this!
Hope you too have learned something new this week too! If you have any good resources, do share them as a reply, or in the comments section. We are eager to learn and share them with others.
